LOVE their store... wish i looked good in hats. my hair is just to epic for all that.

bought a SUPER cute pair of vintage levi cutoffs today at Bobby from Boston. great shop!! that store is full of treasures, especially for guys.
looked at my bank account today. still broke. my paycheck was 300 less than what i calculated it to be -after- taxes annnd my electricity bill was $30 more than it usually is. now i'm depressed.
i hate money.
sometimes money>happiness... which is a horrible, horrible feeling.

Fall Fashion Trends
Fur accents. faux fur on boots and booties.
My thoughts: Not hip to it. I'm not a fan of fur.
My thoughts: Again, gross. Who really likes velvet?
Knit elements: chunky cable and ribbed material to heels, booties
My thoughts: this could be cute.Glitter Effects: adding sparkle to platform heels and stilettos.
My thoughts: 1, it's not holiday, and 2, REALLY?!
Yep, shoes for fall look like a miss. :(
And what is this?!?! --->
it's like, "slow down birkenstock, stick to what you're good at."
More Fall Fashions:
Key trends include crafty folkloric items, sleek biker gear and military-inspired looks. Silhouettes varied from body-conscious to relaxed. Key for the season are jeggings and form-fitting equestrian and motocross-inspired denim. Conversely, slouchy pants and cocoon-like knitwear continue to be important.
There was a continuation of classic heritage looks with plenty of plaid, shearling-trimmed vests and workwear inspiration. And from faux to fabulous, there will be plenty of fur on the street next season.I'm digging:
I'm still digging the Military style, even though it is pretty over done (understatement much?). I've always been obsessed with early 1900s and earlier military style, it's just so cool looking. Anyway, I could totally see myself wearing a trench coat like this.
These
fleece leggings are by Rockstar. Oddly enough, the showroom I worked at in NYC repped this line. I got to model them a few times for clients in the showroom and i totally dig them. they're kind of like wearing tight, awesome looking sweatpants. sounds great.

check out this site for more good and not so good fall trends.
such a different post for me, eh? my plan was to include my crazy life and fashion on here and i guess i'm finally doing it.
side note: i, very much so, hate the so-called word 'jeggings.' gah.

PVH acquires Tommy Hilfiger for $3bn

Phillips Van Heusen, the apparel company, agreed on Monday to acquire Tommy Hilfiger in a $3bn deal that will combine two of the world’s biggest clothing retailers.
Tommy Hilfiger was acquired in 2005 by Apax, a private equity group, for $1.6bn. Through the cash and stock deal, PVH will also assume about $137m in liabilities
"This is a unique opportunity to bring together two premier companies, each with iconic brands,” Emanuel Chirico, chief executive, said in a PVH statement.
Talks between Apax and PVH intensified during the past few weeks. Apax, which took Tommy Hilfiger private, originally planned to float it in 2008 but was deterred by turmoil in the stock market.
The Tommy Hilfiger brand became prominent in the 1990s as it gained popularity with rap musicians. After falling out of style in the past decade it has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years.
Mr Hilfiger will remain as “principal designer and visionary” for the brand and called PVH “the ideal partner to help us achieve our goals”.
Monday’s acquisition represents one of the largest in the retail sector since the recession, which diminished consumers’ appetites for discretionary goods.
PVH owns a broad array of brands including Calvin Klein, Izod, DKNY, Chaps, Arrow and Geoffrey Beene. Tommy Hilfiger has 1,000 stores globally and is projected to have revenues of $2.25bn this year.
“Tommy Hilfiger fits all of our acquisition criteria: a strong brand, superior management, highly profitable, immediately accretive to earnings, and focused on international growth,” said Mr Chirico, who said he expected to reduce debt quickly. “We also believe that our cultures are highly compatible.”
